M. Night Shyamalan’s latest thriller, ‘Trap’, tells the story of Cooper Adams, a serial killer known as “the Butcher”.
Josh Hartnett delivers a strong performance as Cooper, and his committed performance elevated the entire film. Hartnett brought dimension and complexity to the character and his portrayal is convincing and engaging, making Copper an unsettling figure. His mannerisms and facial expressions were solid!
The cinematography is great with several interesting split focus angles combined with framed shots that makes the audience feel claustrophobic.
The movie had some good moments of building tension and suspense but overall, the pace was a bit weak. I also thought the plot was very predictable.
Overall, ‘Trap’ is a decent thriller, but it is not my favorite Shyamalan film as there is a lack of character development and thematic elements. If you are a fan of his work, you might want to give it a chance.
