The Servant is an intensely obscure psychological thriller on Apple TV Plus. I started watching this show a while back and finally watched the last season which came out recently.
Servant’s finale was bewildering, suspenseful, and perfectly fitting. I am a big M. Night Shyamalan fan and I like the work he’s done with this series. The show can be confusing and cryptic at times but it is unorthodox and thrilling. The Philadelphia settings are incredible and I loved the cinematography. Additionally, you get to see M. Knight appears in Hitchcock-ian mode in some scenes!
The cast is amazing, and the story unfolds is fantastic and gripping from season to season (my personal favs: Lauren Ambrose and Rupert Grint). Ambrose was just impeccable and unmatched and Grint was so compelling.
I must note that the storyline was ambiguous throughout and it’s not an exposition-driven screenplay. If you don’t appreciate the kind of shows that ask more than answer, then it might be better to skip it. But if you love stories that make you think and second-guess everything, Servant is genius work.
