‘Abigail’ is a vampire film with a blend of horror, psychological drama and black humor. It reminded me a bit of ‘The Lost Boys’.
Alisha Weir embodies the enigmatic Abigail with intensity and fierceness and commanded the screen with force and grit. The supporting cast also delivers strong performances, adding depth to the film’s narrative. Unlike other horror movies, this one offers a unique twist on the vampire genre. The premise is fresh, and the vampire elements are well-executed.
The cinematography in the mansion setting is enchanting, eerie, and haunting.
Director Matt Bettinelli-Olpin skillfully crafts tension and suspense throughout the film. There is some visceral gore, chilling imagery, and some fun jump scares.
Overall, ‘Abigail’ is a must-watch for fans of suspenseful thrillers. I recommend this movie!
