Rock & Roll Hall of Famer and Aerosmith guitarist, Joe Perry, has a swagger to him like no other. Perry’s guitar playing is so freeform with an indisputable expression of versatility. He adds his signature blues-rock feel to the music.
On Saturday, July 30th, I attended the Hollywood Vampire’s concert in Manchester, New Hampshire. It was an entertaining and star-studded spectacle!
Rock & Roll Hall of Famer and legend, Alice Cooper, was a sensational ringmaster. Alice graced the stage with his iconic horror-themed theatrics. I really enjoyed listening to Alice as his sinister vocals added great dramatics to the songs. Cooper projected his gravelly vocals in songs like “I Want My Now”, “Raise the Dead and “The Boogeyman Surprise”. Moreover, he was very engaging with the crowd and spoke to us between songs.
Rock & Roll Hall of Famer and Aerosmith guitarist, Joe Perry, has a swagger to him like no other. Perry’s guitar playing is so freeform with an indisputable expression of versatility. He adds his signature blues-rock feel to the music.
Legendary actor, Johnny Depp, showcased his impressive guitar skills and entertained the crowd with several vocals. In my opinion, the most memorable cover was David Bowie’s “Heroes” with Johnny leading in vocals. Depp embodies a rock star guitar slinger and he clearly loves the instantaneous thrill of audience feedback.
There were a few other fun setlist songs like – “My Dead Drunk Friends” which was a salute to rock’s deceased heroes. Depp introduced an instrumental tribute to pioneering guitarist Jeff Beck. It was such a treat to see Perry riffing with Beck’s iconic white Stratocaster.
Aside from the aforementioned Cooper, Perry and Depp, the band also include guitarist Tommy Henriksen, bassist Chris Wyse, drummer Glen Sobel and Buck Johnson on keyboards. The entire band was incredibly synchronous and sounded fantastic.
In addition, professional staging, sound production, and concert lighting enhanced the whole immersive concert experience.
I had such a great time seeing the Hollywood Vampires again! I hope you can check them out when they come to a city near you!
