‘Road House’ was a well-rounded movie. It is noteworthy to mention that is different from the 1989 cult classic starring Patrick Swayze.
For me, Jake Gyllenhaal was a standout. Gyllenhaal brings a natural intensity to Dalton as well as an impressive physical commitment. His performance is believable and multi-layered.
True to his real-life persona, Conor McGregor maintains his signature presence in the film and is generically unhinged right from the start.
Doug Liman’s direction certainly has a lot of energy as it alternates between fights up close and drone shots. The fight scenes were well choreographed.
If you are looking for a mindless action movie – give it a watch!
