Who else loved the Garfield comics as a kid?! Well, ‘The Garfield Movie’ felt like a love letter to its golden era and the film captures the heart of Jim Davis’s Garfield legacy. The movie stays true to the cat-character that we all love from the comics. However, the modernized Garfield watches Catflix and uses food delivery phone apps – it is quite funny! The film was funny and charming.
The visuals and production design are fascinating. The Garfield movie has some funny moments and Easter eggs to the original comic strips. I enjoyed the dual animation approach with high-quality DNEG Animation for most of the movie and during the “heist scene” there is a 2D animation style.
Chris Pratt’s voice acting was great as Garfield and the rest of voice cast did fantastic too.
Everyone loves Garfield – the Monday-hating, lasagna-loving, no-nonsense pet cat! Go watch the movie this week!
